THE MOLE: UNDERCOVER IN NORTH KOREA (available until 15th of August)
The story of ‘The Mole’, an ordinary family man from Denmark turned secret agent, and 'Mr. James', a former jet-set cocaine pusher posing as Scandinavian billionaire. Together with director Mads Brügger, they attempt to find a smoking gun to prove how North Korea is busting UN sanctions.
Incredibly, these two unlikely characters gain access to the heart of an international criminal network that produces and distributes drugs and weapons for dubious clients. The Mole and Mr. James use hidden cameras and microphones to secretly record their meetings; contracts are signed, deals are cut and soon the team become involved in a plan to build a secret, underground weapons and drugs factory somewhere in Africa. But how far can they go without blowing their cover?
THE AMBASSADOR
A strange, enigmatic and decadent white diplomat arrives in central Africa, looking like a mixture of Henry Stanley and Karl Lagerfeld. He has recently bought an ambassadorship and claims to be a do-good rich business man, who has come to spearhead a diplomatic mission. Officially he is there to start a factory that produces matches - this, to employ locals and teach how to make this simple piece of fire-making equipment. Unofficially he is really there to gain access to vast reserves of diamonds. “The Ambassador” is a genre-breaking, tragic comedy about the bizarre world of African diplomacy.
COLD CASE HAMMARSKJÖLD
In 1961, Secretary General of the UN, Dag Hammarskjöld, died in a plane crash in Northern Rhodesia. He was en route to ceasefire negotiations between non-combatant UN forces and troops from the breakaway state of Katanga. The circumstances of the plane crash were always unclear but now the UN are reopening the case on the suspicion of assassination. The question is, who wanted Hammarskjöld dead and can the truth be revealed today?
