European metropolises' appetite for a circular economy is growing. The Catalan capital is the next city, after Amsterdam, to reach for Kate Raworth's theory of pandemic collapse, climate change and social equalization. Already last year, Ada Colau, the mayor of Barcelona, announced that the city was facing major changes. The idea is to redevelop the central district of Eixample to make it greener and more accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. Bicycle paths, plant passages, playgrounds, mini-parks and everything else the inhabitants of the Catalan capital want will be within their reach.
